VIRGINIA 2005:
...preseason honorable mention All-American by Face-Off Yearbook ...
outstanding speed and quickness ... finished UVa career with 95 goals
for Top 12 All-Time at UVa and 57 assists for 152 pts for Top 20 All-Time
at UVa ... entered the 2005 season fourth among active ACC players in
both goals and points ...scored at least one goal in 38 of 44 games
...is the ninth player in ACC history named All-ACC as a freshman and
sophomore
started 2005 with 3g/1ass vs Manhattan and followed
it up with a 3g/1ass performance vs. Syracuse. Next 3 games would have
1g/2ass against Princeton, Mt. St. Mary's and Towson. For only the fifth
time in his collegiate career he was held scoreless against John Hopkins
but rebounded well against Maryland (2g/2ass) and North Carolina (2g/3ass)
and was named ACC Player of the Week back to back for his performances
against both teams. In a losing effort to Maryland in the ACC tournament
his 1g/3ass effort was not enough to advance UVa to the ACC finals.
UVa would regroup and explode in the first round of the NCAA playoffs
with a 23-9 win over Albany with Christmas scoring 3 goals in the first
half including a last second acrobatic full field catch and finish to
end the first half. Quarterfinals vs. Navy his 1g/2ass performance helped
UVa advance to their third Final Four appearance in four years. In one
of the best lacrosse games ever played, UVa faced the #1 ranked John
Hopkins but failed to knock them losing in OT. In his last game as a
cavalier, Christmas registered 1g/1ass in the game of runs vs. Hopkins.
Later that week Christmas was drafted in the 1st round of the MLL Draft
by the Boston Cannons. He would also be invited to Team USA tryouts
at UMBC the following week.
AT
VIRGINIA: 2004:
Dangerous attackman who had a tough season ...saw a drop off in his
production ... tied for third on the team in goals (11) and points (21),
and fourth in assists (10) ... led the team in assists three times and
in goals once ... began the season on attack, but was moved to midfield
midway through the season ... played primarily in the midfield the last
month ... opened with a 1-goal, 2-assist performance vs. Drexel ...
scored once in the loss to Air Force, but followed that with three goals
and an assist against Denver the following day ... his three goals and
four points in that game were season highs ... named to the Pioneer
Face-Off Classic All-Tournament team ... did not play against Syracuse
due to a leg injury ... scored once in his return against Princeton
... that game was also the first in which he started to see time in
the midfield ... season-high three assists lifted the team to an overtime
win at Towson ... scored twice against North Carolina in his last start
on attack ... scored once against Duke in his first action after making
the move to middie ... led the team with two assists in the overtime
win over North Carolina in the ACC Tournament ...had a goal and an assist
against Maryland in the ACC finals.
AT VIRGINIA 2003:
Had a remarkable season leading an attack that featured two sophomores
and a freshman ... second-team All-American ... All-ACC ... led the
team with a career-high 36 goals, tied for first in the ACC ... his
36 goals tied for ninth nationally ... finished second in the conference
in goals per game (2.12/g) ... third on the team in scoring, one point
behind the co-leaders, with 48 points (36g, 12a) ... sixth in the conference
in scoring at 2.82 ppg ... led the team in goals on eight occasions,
best on the team ... had a tremendous game in UVa's 16-15 upset win
over then #1 Syracuse at the Carrier Dome ... scored four goals, including
the game winner with 22 seconds left, and was named national player
of the week by Warrior/Inside Lacrosse ... his four goals tied for the
team lead that game ... four goals and six points led the team in a
14-8 win over Notre Dame ... led in goals in three consecutive games--two
vs. Johns Hopkins and Maryland and three vs. North Carolina ... had
three goals and an assist against North Carolina in the semifinals of
the ACC Tournament ... two goals and an assist vs. Penn State in a narrow
11-10 win ... two goals, two assists vs. Denver ... scored team-high
three goals, all in the first quarter, in a first round NCAA Tourney
win over Mount St. Mary's ... scored three times to lead the way against
Georgetown in the quarterfinals ... held scoreless by Maryland in the
semifinals for only the second time in his career ... rebounded with
two goals and an assist vs. Johns Hopkins in the title game ... scored
an insurance goal with a defender draped all over him with 1:59 to play
to put UVa ahead 9-6 ... also scooped up five ground balls, a season
high, vs. the Blue Jays.
AT VIRGINIA 2002:
Highly heralded player coming in who lived up to the hype ... National
Rookie of the Year by Inside Lacrosse ... third-team All-American ...All-NCAA
Tournament ... All-ACC ... All-ACC Tournament ... made an immediate
impact, starting every game ... tied for fifth in the ACC in scoring
with an average of 2.93 ppg ... second in the conference in goals with
29 (1.93/g) and tied for eighth in assists (1.00/g) ... scored on the
first shot of his career 48 seconds into the Drexel game ... finished
with three goals and five ground balls in that game ... scored two goals
and had his first two assists in a 13-11 win over Princeton ... named
National Player of the Week with a 3-goal, 4-assist effort as UVa handed
top-ranked Johns Hopkins its first loss of the season ... with the game
tied at six early in the third quarter, he took over ... had a hand
in the next six goals--assisting on four third-quarter goals and scoring
twice in the fourth--en route to a 12-6 win ... his seven points in
that game were the most by a UVa freshman since 1996 ... helped lead
UVa to a key 11-10 win over Maryland on the road ... scored a career-high
four goals (on just six shots) and added an assist ... two of his goals
came in man-down situations ... two goals, two assists to lead UVa to
a win over Duke for the ACC regular season title ... scored three times
and had one assist in the ACC Tournament finals vs. Duke and was named
to the All-ACC Tournament team ... held scoreless for the only time
in a loss to Penn State ... rebounded to score two goals and add two
assists vs. Butler ... snagged a career-high seven ground balls in that
game ... scored just one goal vs. Cornell in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals,
but it was a big one ... took a pass and scored with 3:59 left to give
the Cavaliers an 11-10 win ... scored three goals in the national semifinals
against Syracuse ... named to the NCAA Championships All-Tournament
team.
